MEDIAPRINT THE SECRETS OF JHAIPUR
THE SECRETS OF JHAIPUR. CODE: 08656-MDP
Author: ALKA JOSHI; Translated by: TAULANT HATIA
Spring, 1969. Lakshmi, now married to Dr. Jay Kumarin, runs the Healing Garden in Shimla. Malik has finished school and, at the age of twenty, meets a young woman named Nimi, a widow with two young children. One fine day, he has to leave for Jaipur, where he will learn about the construction business in the offices of the royal palace grounds of Jaipur. And he will achieve this by participating in the newest project in town: a modern cinema. Malik sees that the Pink City of his childhood has not changed. Power and money still flow freely among the wealthy class, who enjoy favors from the royal palace, but only if some secrets remain buried. When the cinema lodge tragically collapses on the opening night, killing and injuring people, the finger of blame is pointed where it is most appropriate, at an old friend of Lakshmi's.
Age group: over 18 years old.
