The Book of Lost Names is a wonderful historical thriller novel set in World War II France. The story centers on Eva Trob Abrams, a young Jewish girl born in Paris to Polish immigrant parents, whose circumstances involve her in a clandestine operation to produce forged documents for Jewish children to help them get escape the Nazis. Eva, a talented forger, works alongside her mentor, Remi, creating new identities for the children. They create a system, through the use of a secret code, hidden inside a book called "The Book of Lost Names", to record the children's real names and their fake identities.
