MEDIAPRINT BILLY AND THE LITTLE MONSTERS MONSTERS IN THE DARK

Billy is afraid of the dark. He is afraid to sleep for fear of night monsters coming to him in the dark. Billy is, perhaps, every child; someone who will sleep with the light on, another who will squeeze mommy's hand until she falls asleep. "Billy and the Little Monsters" is the first book in the "Billy and the Little Monsters" series, and the book where the characters are introduced, who, unlike what the title suggests, are not that scary. On the contrary, as Billy will understand they are small and quite amusing and have funny names: Trumpet, Captain Qurrashi, Ball, Jelly and Toothless. The book is nice and full of humor. The little reader follows Bill, from his bedroom, to the bookshelf where someone or something has spilled paint all over it, leaving little traces of purple paint; then something has bitten his collar, while his sock drawer stinks. All this mess in Billy's room is made by the monsters, which I was so scared of, but which help Billy overcome his fear of the dark. The book is written in simple language and accompanied by wonderful illustrations. Each illustration by artist Melanie Williamson is full of humor and seems to bring each character to life. "Billy and the Little Monsters" is a book that every child will like, who, like Billy, will surely want to be friends with the Trumpet at the end of the book.
