The Homeric poem "ODYSSEY" tells the dangerous adventures of Odysseus (Ulysses), on his way back home, where his beloved wife, Penelope, his son, Telemachus, his father, Laertes, and the loyal men of his court were waiting for him. After 10 years of war in Troy and after its fall, Odysseus undertakes his journey full of dangers, a journey that kept him away from his family for another 10 years. Poseidon, the God of the Seas, angry with Odysseus, sends him dangerous adventures, which keep him away from his country. But the Goddess Athena loved Odysseus very much and helps him to return home. In Odysseus's absence, the courtiers devour the riches and demand that Penelope choose one of them as a husband. Homer so beautifully sang of the vicissitudes of this cunning warrior to return to his country.
